Obituary of William R. Sheeley

William (Bill) Sheeley, son of Glenn and Mary Frances (Clutts) Sheeley was born on February 2, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. He departed this life, Saturday October 9, 2010 in his home at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, surrounded by his wife and his brothers. Bill had a happy childhood in Anna, Illinois, where he first learned to hunt and fish. He graduated from Anna Jonesboro High School class of 1960. He left Anna to proudly serve his country in the US Marine Corp. Upon his return from the service he went on to earn his Bachelor and Master degrees from SIU. He then started his career in manufacturing. He worked in diversified positions, in multiple states, retiring as Plant Manager for Ferguson Machine. He always wanted to retire to the Lake of the Ozarks where he could enjoy the atmosphere, fish anytime and go deer and turkey hunting. He got his wish, just not enough time. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Linda. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two sons, William Sheeley and his wife Karla of Wharton, Illinois; Michael Sheeley; two daughters Angela Sheeley and Mary Ann Goodson and her husband Chris of St. Louis, Missouri; two step children Neelie Rapien, Knoxville, Tennessee and Len Rapien and his wife Charidy of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by his mother Mary Frances Sheeley of Anna, Illinois; his brothers, John Sheeley and wife Barbara of Detroit, Michigan and Richard Sheeley and his wife Cathy of Anna, Illinois; and his lifelong friend Bob Trokey of the Lake; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, various nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to name.
