Obituary of Wes Stevens
Wes Stevens was born March 31, 1945, and passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 29, 2010. Wes overcame his first bout of lymphoma in 1992 and lived another 18 happy years before the same illness took his life.
Wes attended Ruskin High School and played trombone in the Rose Bowl Parade on New Years Day 1960. He graduated from Missouri Valley College and moved to Rolla, Missouri where he taught biology and coached football. He eventually gave up teaching to become a full-time pilot. For 15 years, he flew for the State of Missouri and piloted the likes of then Governors Ashcroft, Kit Bond and other political dignitaries in the state capitol in Jefferson City, Missouri. He and his wife, Linda, moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1984 where his career path took him into real estate. From there, he began his own home-inspection business, of which he ran successfully for 7 years before lymphoma forced him to retire in 2010.
Wes was well known for his brilliant smile, infectious laugh and ability to brighten even the darkest room with his abundant charm. An avid boater and motorcyclist, he lived life as if every day were his last.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, his two daughters, Terry Lopez-Cruz and Julie Rice; four grandchildren, Callie, Cassie, Brody and CJ, and his brother, Frank Stevens. Following services, the family invites all to join them for food, drinks and fun in the "Dugout" at the Batter's Box.
