Obituary of Anjana Shah Torres
Anjana (Anju) Shah Torres, age 59, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away in her home in the morning of January 12, 2011. Anju was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya where her family had moved from India. While working as a secretary at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi, she met her husband, Andre Torres, where they were married on July 17, 1974. The international couple moved from Nairobi to Tokyo to Los Angeles, then finally calling Lake of the Ozarks home in the summer of 1979.
She was a strong woman with a big heart. She enjoyed sitting on her deck and watching the lake in the shade. In her day, she was a good golfer and enjoyed tennis. She loved the beauty of nature at all times of year, but especially loved how the lake looked when surrounded by snow. She loved talking to and caring for people. Most recently in life, she cared for and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, love, and most of all, strength.
She is survived by her husband, Andre Torres (Nimes, France); her sisters, Kanchan �Ben� Sushila Shah, and Indu Shah; her three sons,- of Lake Ozark, Anand and wife Amber Torres, Christophe and wife Angela Torres, and Pierre Torres; her three Grandchildren, Ellyana(3yrs), Andre(18mo), and Annika(6mo).
She was preceded in death by her parents Vajabhai and Demataben Shah; her sister Sudha �Baby� Shah; and her brother Manu Shah.
