Obituary of William H. Berendts

William H. �Bill� Berendts, age 86, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, March 28, 2011, at his residence in Camdenton. He was born May 17, 1924, in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Hermann and Erna Catherine (Feit) Berendts. Bill was united in marriage on January 5, 1946 in North Bergen, New Jersey, to Helen Munster, and together they had shared the past 61 years, until her death, in July 2007. Bill had served his country proudly in the United States Army. Bill was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was also a member of the Camdenton Lions Club and Camdenton VFW. He had worked at various jobs through the years; a taxi cab driver, an oil delivery truck driver, a flight instructor and charter pilot, a real estate salesman, operated a family resort at Lake of the Ozarks for a few years, worked in a V.A. hospital as a psychiatry nursing assistant, was a histo-pathology technician, and worked for the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division inspecting distilleries until his retirement. Bill is survived by his daughter Marty A Werneke and husband, Larry, of Warrensburg, Missouri; grandchildren Scott Werneke and his wife, Abby, of Warrensburg, Michael Werneke and his wife, Tonia, of Leeton, Missouri, and Robert Werneke and wife, Sara, of Warrensburg, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Carol and her sister Noel Diehl of Noblesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Andria Berendts and her husband,Mark, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Drew Berendts and his wife, Lisa, of Seattle Washington; great-grandchildren Alexandria Berendts, Elizabeth Berendts, Payton Werneke, Tucker Werneke and Ava Werneke along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parent; his wife Helen; one son, Terry; two sisters and one infant brother.
