Obituary of John Roman Cionko

John Roman Cionko, age 81, of Four Seasons, Missouri, departed this life Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home in Four Seasons, after a year and half battle from lung cancer. John was born October 21, 1931 in Granite City, Illinois to Vita (Drillia) and Louis Frank Cionka, the third of six children. John graduated from Granite City High School in 1949 and was very active in First Assembly of God Church and in his community. On August 15, 1953 he married Dolores �Dodi� Moore. For 33 years John owned and operated Cionko�s Market while residing in Granite City, Illinois. In 1986 he retired to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where he began a new career as a lake area realtor. During his career of 27 years as a realtor, he worked for various companies while residing at Waters Edge in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. John enjoyed his children and grandchildren, reading the Bible, boating and living his �dream� at the lake. John leaves behind, his wife Dodi; their three children, Rhonda (Dr. Gary) Fischer, John (Dana) Cionko, and Robyn (Jim Trowbridge) Cionko; five grandchildren, Garrett Fischer, Grant Fischer, Dillon Cionko, Shelby Cionko and Roman Trowbridge. Also surviving are his sisters, Mary Ritchie and husband Harold of Godrey, Illinois and Helen Lindsay and husband Lynn of Edwardsville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents Vita and Louis Cionko; his brother Louis Cionko; and two sisters, Sophia Huebner and Joann Worthum. In addition to local services listed there will be a visitation on Wednesday, April 8, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Irwin Funeral Home in Granite City, Illinois with Funeral Services following at 12:00 noon.
