Margorie Kassel

Obituary of Margorie Marie Kassel

Margorie Marie (Sadler) Kassel went to rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Marge, as everyone knew her best, just celebrated her 81st birthday. Marge was born in Longtown, Missouri on September 10, 1939 to Dallas and Norma Sadler. She graduated from Perryville, Missouri High School in 1957. In her high school years, Marge was active in cheerleading, softball, drama club and was a bright light to everyone who knew her. Soon after graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Donald Arthur Kassel and had four children. Throughout her life she participated in many organizations, businesses, and jobs. She was a cub scout leader for many years and one of the first female Boy Scout leaders. She never met a stranger, and as her kids grew up she became the go-to-mom for neighborhood kids and was known as Momma Kassel. Her family and friends were everything to her. She is survived by her husband Don; her four children, Keith (Beth) Kassel, Jeff (Katerina) Kassel, Ann (Clayton) Carden, and Susan Emmendorfer; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her sister Patricia (Don) Karst; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Norma and her sister Carol Sadler. Marge retired from the State of Missouri Department of Revenue as a supervisor. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and she served on the condo home owner’s association of their residence at Lake Ozark, Missouri. She was a huge fan of the Cardinals, Royals, and Chiefs. The annoying alerts on her phone during games were proof. She enjoyed golf, reading, baking, bowling, and traveling with her husband, but the thing that made her happiest was being with family, grandkids, and friends. Some of the funny things her family laughs about is how she loved gadgets and tools. Her idea of shopping was going to a kitchen or hardware store. She called them toy stores. Marge also had a funny way of turning comments and conversations into a song. She had a song for everything. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to services at the church. Graveside Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville, Missouri.
