Obituary of Betty Jean McClure

Betty Jean McClure, age 97, of Bethalto, Illinois passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Villa Rose Senior Living in Bethalto, Illinois.

Betty was born on December 16, 1924 in Weaubleau, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Ruby Mason.

On August 8, 1946, Betty was united in marriage to Robert E. “Bob” McClure in Kansas City, Missouri. They shared 68 years together at the time of his passing in 2014.

Betty was a member at First Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri. Betty and Bob were very active in the church. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Betty is survived by her son Jim McClure and wife Jackie of Edwardsville, Illinois; one grandson Steven McClure; one great-granddaughter Alexis McClure; sister-in-law Peggy Brown; and many other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bob” McClure; her parents; her brother Tommy Mason; and her sister Martha Tucker.

A Celebration will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  

Interment was held at Roach Cemetery in Roach, Missouri.
