Obituary of Marcene Gae Josephson

Marcene Gae Josephson, age 78, of Linn Creek, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home in Linn Creek.

Marcene was born February 9, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Ansel and Arlene Malone.

On June 5, 1978, she married Carl Ellis Josephson.

After high school, she went to beauty school to become a cosmetologist. She worked in beauty shops in Lincoln, Nebraska and was also a bartender at Misty Lounge in Lincoln for approximately 10 years. She managed a golf coarse for 10 years in Syracuse, Nebraska. She also had a beauty shop in Palmyra, Nebraska and then opened a bar and restaurant in Palmyra for 8 years. She managed the business and did all the cooking. She made the best fried chicken and prime rib in the area. She then retired in 2005 and moved to the lake area.

Marcene loved all sports but football was the best, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She had great Husker football parties and loved to play Fantasy Football against the boys at Woody’s Tavern. She loved people and having fun and also her Bud Light.

Mercene is survived by her husband Carl Ellis Josephson; son Christopher Donovan of Gretna, Nebraska; step-daughter Carmen Josephson of Belevue, Nebraska; grandchildren Keaton Donovan of Omaha, Nebraska, Makayla and husband Ben Brabec of Ceresco, Nebraska, and Carlea and husband Steven Whitfield of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; great-grandchildren Liam and Luke Brabec of Ceresco, Nebraska and Rowan and Asher Whitfield of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and brother Wesley and Kathy Malone of Douglas, Nebraska.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:30 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
